Les Deux Alpes is a globally-famous ski resort which is located just 90 minutes from Grenoble, offering access to a world-famous winter sports destination. The area is celebrated for its deep mountaineering roots and dramatic glacial geography. Les Deux Alpes combines this rich alpine heritage with high-altitude terrain.
The event immerses participants in a snow-covered wonderland under the watchful eye of the towering 3,465 m high Roche de la Muzelle peak, combining trail running spirit with frost coated winter terrain. The event winds through the station’s high-altitude winter terrain with snow-covered singletrack, glittering slopes, and sweeping vistas overlooking the illuminated mountain villages below.
Les Lumières de la Muzelle offers runners a range of distances, from the demanding 42 km Maratrail, which climbs 1,650 meters, to the shorter 11 km night run, which features 275 m of climbing and 675 m of descent. All of the events are run entirely on the snow covered slopes. Runners can also opt for the mid-afternoon 16 km course with its more moderate 500 m of climbing or the headlamp-lit 21 km snow trail with 750 m of vert. Each course traverses the wintry landscape, showcasing the glowing valleys and snowy ridges and providing runners a unique mountain trail experience.
