
Grand Duc Trail de Chartreuse

The Trail du Grand Duc is held in Saint Pierre de Chartreuse, Isère, situated in the heart of the Chartreuse Natural Park, between Grenoble and Chambéry, France. The area is known for its dense forests, limestone ridges, and dramatic alpine scenery, providing a natural playground for trail runners of all levels.
The flagship race, the Ultra Solo, covers 72 km with 4,800 m of elevation gain, traversing rugged alpine terrain and offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Other races include the Moyen Duc (44 km, 3,000 m), the Sky Duc (28 km, 1,700 m), the Chouette Trail (10 km), and the P’tits Ducs children’s event. The event offers relay races as well, with a 32 km duo event and a 70 km 5 person race, allowing runners to experience the trails with friends old and new.
Set against the backdrop of the majestic Chartreuse Mountains, the Trail de Chartreuse combines technical trail running with the camaraderie of community racing, offering an immersive mountain adventure in a stunning alpine setting.
