La 6000D

The La 6000D is a high mountain trail event held around La Plagne in Savoie, located about two hours south of Geneva, Switzerland. Over 35 years old, La 6000D is one of France’s oldest long-distance trail races. It combines history, elevation, and unique terrain features for a distinctly alpine experience.
The marquee race is 69 km long with approximately 3,400 m of ascent, from the village of Aime up to the “Live 3000” glacier ski area at 3,080 m before descending through alpine forests and finishing along the Isère River. The route even includes a climb alongside France’s only Olympic bobsleigh track!
For those seeking a shorter race, there’s the 6D Marathon, with 43 km and 2,100 m of gain, while the 6D Lacs spans about 30 km with 1,500 m of ascent. The shortest race is the 6 Découverte, with 11 km trail and 600 m of gain, and the 6 Défi allows ambitious runners to complete the Découverte, Lacs and Marathon over three days. A fun 5 km race with 250 m of climb and a novelty run up the bobsleigh track complement the program, and a dedicated kids loop introduces younger runners to the trails.
Set amid soaring alpine ridges, high-altitude vistas and glacier views, La 6000D offers a range of races in Savoie’s famous Tarentaise Valley.
