Le Défi de la Muzelle

The Défi de la Muzelle is a four-day stage trail event held annually in Les Deux Alpes, Isère, nestled within the Oisans region of the French Alps. The event offers two race categories, each split into 4 stages: the Grand Défi (total distance of 100 km with 7,100 m of elevation gain) and the Petit Défi (total distance of 50 km with 3,100 m of elevation gain).
Each day presents a new area to explore, with stages such as “Du Diable à la Fée” (From devil to fairy) and “Les Lacs des Écrins” (The Lakes of the Écrins), traversing diverse alpine terrains including ridgelines, glacial valleys, and high-altitude lakes.
The event emphasizes a communal and festive atmosphere, featuring daily entertainment such as films, photo contests and more. Participants can also compete in specialized classifications like best climber, sprinter, and descender, adding a competitive edge in the spirit of the Tour de France.
Set against the backdrop of Muzelle peak and the Écrins National Park, Le Défi de la Muzelle offers a challenging yet convivial alpine adventure, ideal for trail enthusiasts seeking both competition and camaraderie.
