About the race

The Tignes Trail is a two-day mountain trail event held in Tignes, located in the Vanoise range of France’s Savoie Department, roughly two hours from Geneva, Switzerland. All the races take place at an altitude of 2,000 m or higher, and offer 360-degree views of glaciers, high‑mountain lakes, and jagged peaks.

On Saturday, there are three youth races, ranging from under 1 km to around 3 km. Sunday features three adult events: a 14 km trail with approximately 750 m of ascent, a 26 km with about 1,440 m of gain, and the full 42 km ultratrail race that climbs nearly 2,630 m as it threads its way through the Vanoise National Park. A maximum of 200 runners can enter this race.

Runners can enjoy varied terrain, from forested lower slopes to high‑altitude ridgelines, passing lakes and glacial views before finishing in Tignes‑le‑Lac. A village hub near the finish line offers event services and aid. Whether racing solo on the ultratrail or running with family and friends on the shorter distances, Tignes Trail offers runners a high‑altitude alpine experience and glacier‑sculpted scenery.
