Trail Frison Roche

The Trail de la Frison‑Roche takes place in Arêches‑Beaufort, nestled in the Beaufortain region of France’s Savoie department, a half hour east of Albertville, home of the 1992 Winter Olympics. The region is famous for its alpine cheeses, most notably the aptly named Beaufort.
The main events are held on Sunday, with La Frison Roche offering 42 km route and 2,900 m of elevation gain. The route runs along high ridgelines, skirts Lac de Saint-Guérin, and crosses the Himalayan-style footbridge at the Poncellamont Gorge. La Petite Frison, at 17 km with 1,000 m of ascent, follows a more compact course through forests and alpine meadows, with views toward the Mont Blanc massif and the tooth-like sentinel of the region, the Pierra Menta.
On Saturday, the Mini‑Frison Roche gives runners a shorter 7 km loop with 370 m of climbing, while the Kid’Roche offers a fun run for young participants.
Set above Beaufort’s rolling green pastures and framed by iconic alpine peaks like the Pierra Menta and Mont Blanc, this event blends rolling mountain terrain and village charm in the heart of the pastoral Beaufortain.
