Run the Alps has just launched a Strava Club. Join us here!

Day in and day out, our guests, staff, and guides are exploring new trails, cruising over old classics, and stepping out the door from Chamonix, France to Grindelwald, Switzerland to go for a run.

Our Strava Club is a place to share those runs and celebrate the trails we all love!

If you’re not in the Alps, we’d still love to see what you’re up to– whether you’re training for a trip to the Alps or simply out for a spin on your home trails.

The Guidebook Challenge: Run, Tag, Earn!

To kick off our Strava Club, we’re hosting a Challenge for anyone living in or passing through the Mont Blanc region!

The Challenge is simple: we’re inviting you to run some of the best trails in the area from our guidebook—Trail Running Chamonix Mont Blanc: 30 Must-Do Runs in France, Italy and Switzerland.

How to take part

  1. Pick up a copy of Trail Running Chamonix Mont Blanc  (Available online, at The Hub, and bookstores around Chamonix!)
  2. Join the Run the Alps Strava Club
  3. Complete 1, 5, 10, 20 or all 30 routes from the guidebook. (Yes, the more you do the better the prize gets!) You can see all the routes here.
    • There’s no time limit per route—fast, slow, scenic… it all counts.
    • Don’t forget to record your activity on the GPS device of your choice!
  4. Tag the Run the Alps Strava Club when uploading your runs.
    • Add a few photos and a sentence or two for each run—we love hearing the stories behind them!
  5. Submit this form and get ready to pick up your prize.

Prizes

Our prizes have been curated by Leigh-Anne, Run the Alps’ very own Adventure Prize Fairy. Once your submission has been checked, Leigh-Anne will get in touch with you via email to arrange prize pick up!

Please note: Prizes cannot be sent by mail. They must be picked up in Chamonix.

 A Note on Mountain Safety

The Alps are spectacular—but they can also be serious. Before heading out:

  • Check the weather forecast and trail conditions. (These apps can help!)
  • Make sure you have the right gear for the route and conditions.
  • Let someone know where you’re going and take a phone just in case something happens!
  • If you’re unsure about a route, head to The Hub where there are plenty of folks who are active on these trails and will be happy to give advice.

Your safety always comes first, period. No prize is worth a twisted ankle or trying to outrun a thunderstorm.

Kudos. (Photo: Aleksandra Janiak)

Whether you set your sights on collecting every run in the book or squeezing in a run between croissant stops, we hope the Guidebook Challenge adds something special to your summer.

We’ll see you on the trails! (Kudos and goodies are waiting!)
