La Direttissima

La Direttissima is a challenging mountain race held annually in Trento, Italy, approximately 2 hours from Venice. The event offers two main race distances: a 10 km course with approximately 1,000 m of elevation gain, and a 13 km course with around 1,300 m of ascent. Both routes climb directly from the city center to the summit of Monte Bondone, traversing a mix of forested trails, alpine meadows, and rocky ridgelines.
La Direttissima is known for its steep gradients and technical terrain, making it a demanding test. In addition to the main races, a nighttime version allows participants to experience the ascent under headlamps, adding a unique and atmospheric challenge. Younger participants can race shorter courses, encouraging a family-friendly environment and community participation.
Set against the backdrop of the Dolomites, La Direttissima offers picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The event attracts both elite athletes and passionate amateurs, providing a vibrant celebration of mountain running.
