Le Défi de Fort L’Ecluse

West of Geneva, over the border into France, the Association ‘Trail the World’ and Bellegarde Athletic Club offers the chance to race and gain points for the Challenge de Haute Rhone and Challenge des courses de montagne de l’Ain. This is a race on a unique and exceptional site, steeped in history, mixing both cultural heritage and grandiose landscapes. The event now offers two different courses (19km and 12km) with often rolling and on mixed terrain including roads, paths, forest and single tracks. You will pass through the charming villages of Léaz and Longeray, before the breathtaking finale, an ascent of the 917 steps carved into the rock inside the Fort!
