Starting in the village of Lutry, along the eastern shores of Lake Geneva, the XTrail Lavaux is the new name for the Urbantrail des Singes, which now has an ultra-distance for 2020. The routes take runners uphill along the Lavaux vineyard terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site with picturesque views of the Alps. There is varied terrain, including cobblestone alleys, roads, vineyard trails, forest paths, stairs, and more.
The 50km route takes runners past Lac de Brét and over the 1080m high Mont Pélerin. There are also two children’s races (1km and 2km courses) and a 5km fun run.
