Tour Grant Application and Agreement

Application
To apply for a Run the Alps Tour Grant, please send an email to tourgrants@runthealps.com with the information requested below.
A short essay will make up the bulk of your application. If writing is a challenge for you, you can submit your responses as a short video instead. It doesn’t need to be a polished video, and should be less than 5 minutes.
We won’t ask for specific proof of financial need or the barrier(s) you have encountered. Instead, we trust you to share your experiences honestly in your application, using examples where helpful.
All applications are reviewed in confidence by the Tour Grant selection committee. If you’re awarded a grant, you’ll be asked to sign the Grant Agreement outlined below.
Please include the following items in your grant application:
- Name:
- Email:
- Phone number:
- Mailing address:
- Questions to answer in the form of a 500-word essay or short video:
- Who are you, and why do you want to take part in a Run the Alps trip?
- What barriers have you encountered in trail running? (For example, a disability, financial hurdles, barriers to access, lack of representation, lack of skills, knowledge, and/or confidence.)
- What impact could a tour grant have on you and/or your community?
- All self-guided tours and guided tours (excluding those with guest runners) are eligible – as space allows. If you have a preference, please list 3 trips in which you would be interested in participating. If you don’t have a preference, please let us know what level trip(s) you’d like to participate in. We will do our best to match you with one of your preferred trips.
- Do you anticipate needing travel support to make the trip possible? If yes, please share:
- Where you will be travelling from
- Estimated travel costs (if you don’t have a preferred trip, please estimate the cost of travelling to Geneva, Switzerland).
- Any plans to use lower-impact transportation (if applicable)
- Do you need any additional support to make a Run the Alps trip possible, such as a specific guide or support-person, or trail running gear and apparel?
- How did you find out about the Run the Alps Tour Grant Program?
Optional: Is there anything else you’d like to share with us? (For example, links that will allow us to learn more about you, such as your social media, and/or LinkedIn profiles, and/or articles that have been written about you).
